The reality of climate change demands action by all contributing sectors. Although aviation is a small contributor at present, the demand projections for air transport mean a growing relative share of total emissions.

Study Outputs
Manchester Metropolitan University received funding to run the Omega project from January 2007 – 2009 to investigate factors associated with the sustainable development of the UK air transport sector. It established a multi-sectoral partnership of leading individuals and organizations from academia, industry, government and NGOs. Omega delivered over 40 high impact research projects and a significant number of knowledge transfer and training events designed to ensure that the output from this research fed back directly into the sustainable aviation debate.
